We had great plans for making a special summer memory with our older granddaughter... take her to the movie. THAT was not a good idea. She'll be 5 in August and, loving Pixar like we do, we thought taking her to see Wall-E would be a fun experience. It was way over her head. I'm thinking it's more on the upper elementary level. The adults were laughing their heads off and the kids were squirming! Fantastic movie - just not for preschoolers. It's a political satire on our wasteful, sedentary lifestyle. I do agree with the message, but it had little meaning to an almost 5-year old.
She had much more fun when we got home playing with the neighbor's cat in the backyard:
However, the highlight of the day was when G (that's what she calls my husband) gave her an old Subway cup and they hunted Roly-Polys. (We have a strict catch-and-release policy at our house for those of you who may be worried about the fate of the Roly-Polys.)
