I just love my neighbor's cat who comes over to visit whenever he hears me in the backyard. I've never tried an animal in infrared before, but since he came to visit while I was practicing some infrared shots I included him in a few. He was adopted from the Humane Shelter.

My daughter and I visited the Cahaba River National Wildlife Federation yesterday to view the Cahaba Lilies. While it was a delight to see the rare lilies in full bloom, some of my favorite images of the day came from other areas along the river shoals. Click here to learn more about the Cahaba Lilies.

Marengo House 2 - Infrared

Marengo House in Lowndesboro has beautiful trees overhanging the long driveway. I couldn't resist trying a few Infrared photos with the beautiful green of the trees at this time of year. Unfortunately, the sky was uncooperative for Infrared -- it should show up a dark gray to contrast with the white leaves. I use my Sony F828 with a Hoya Infrared, 2 neutral density filters and a polarizer purchased from The Filter Connection (very helpful folks!). The photos were converted to black & white and sepia in Lightroom.
