Enjoy Edward & Brooke

Edward was not in the best of moods, so mom said she'd be happy if I got 2 good ones out of the session. I think she'll be happy :) Here are a few of my favorites. There are more going into her Christmas gallery. And many thanks to Brooke for being such a good big sister and assistant!

Enjoy Facebook Contests

I just held my first-ever contest on my facebook fan page to celebrate 100 fans. Here's how the winner was selected:

First, I found a pretty little box:

I put the first 100 fan names in the box:

I asked a sweet little girl named Annie to draw out three names (two back-ups in case the first one fell through). She didn't have a clue why she was doing this, but sweetly complied. And here's the first name she drew out of the box:

I just sent the winner an email and will let you know when she responds.

For anyone who reads the blog but is not a "fan" on facebook, there will be another drawing to celebrate 150 fans. The second drawing will be for a $150 session or one of my fine art prints of the same value. You can become a fan by clicking here:

This is so much fun! I think I'm going to have more contests!

Enjoy Mini Accordian Books

Just in time for Christmas giving:

Mini-accordian books! They measure 3x3 inches with magnetic covers to keep them closed. When open they reveal selected images from your session. The best part: they come in threes so you'll have one to keep and 2 to give away.

Other designs available if you don't want a Christmas theme. These are not available through your online gallery, so send me an email if you're interested.

Enjoy Textures

Far too depressed after the Auburn-Alabama game to do any serious portrait editing, so played around with some textures. I was actually reminded of why I became interested in photography, which was to enjoy some creative and artistic expression. I'm fasinated with the impressionist and wanted to explore impressionistic photography. I really enjoyed applying the textures and playing with blend modes and opacity to change the images to reflect the colors and "impression" of the moment I took them.

Most images are combined with one or more textures from
SkeletalMess, (my new BFF). The one of the fall tree used one of his textures and two from Jessica Drossin. Enjoy!

One More

... and now I'm done ... for tonight.

Just lovin' these textures from SkeletalMess (on Flickr).

A Page out of Time

Image taken in Lowndesboro. Edited with three different textures from SkeletalMess using different blending modes and varying degrees of opacity; also masked and painted with different degrees of brush opacity.

Enjoy Kade

Kade's gallery will be uploading this afternoon while I head out to a portrait session. Until it is released for mom and dad to view, here are a few of my favorites for them to enjoy:

I'm apparently in my "texture" phase... I think most everything looks better with a texture applied. These were made with free textures from SkeletalMess:

This one uses a purchased texture from Jessica Drossin

Enjoy Christmas 3

Enjoy Christmas 2

Enjoy Red

Enjoy Puppies

Meet our newest "granddaughter", Scooter:

She's a doll and has the sweetest temperament I've ever seen! Scooter has some equally precious siblings who need good homes for Christmas. Please email me if you're interested. Please! I don't want them to end up in my back yard because they're so darn irresistable!

Think Christmas

The Christmas set is ready for the next two week-ends of special Christmas portrait sessions. You can't see much of it in these captures, but you can get an idea of the colors. Both cats are quite miffed with me for making them model as I adjusted the lighting.

I'm very excited about these upcoming sessions!

Enjoy Toddlers

Mr. K wasn't so sure about it all when he arrived at Blount Park Sunday for his session...

But Mom and Dad remained calm and unstressed so this little fella was soon having a great time and we got lots of good captures. I won't be able to finish editing their gallery until next week, but couldn't resist Mom's request for a sneak peek while she waits:
