Comparing Books and Albums

Here's a comparison of the press-printed books and standard albums (not flush mounted or press-printed albums):

1. thickness - 8x8 black album and 8x8 brown fabric-covered book




2. binding -- book on bottom; album on top



3. page thickness -- book on left; album on right



4. gutters -- both will have a gutter (does not apply to press printed books which offer full-page spreads with no gutter)



5. mounting -- the album (on the left) is a photographic print mounted on heavy cardstock. The album pictured here is NOT flush mounted, so the print will not be even with the edge of the page. There will be a tiny margin around the edges where the backing will show. (Again, not applicable to flush mounted or press printed albums which go edge to edge.) The book print goes edge-to-edge, but is not a photographic print.



The coffee-table books look very much like the photographic books available in the bookstores, thus "coffee-table books." The albums are what people think of when you mention wedding albums, except now we have the luxury of adding more than one image per page.

I've been offering brides the Cache album from Art Leather for about a year now. I recently ordered this sample with an Imagevue cover and surely do love it!

Every Bride Deserves an Album

And this is quickly becoming my new favorite album to offer my brides! Why, you ask?

Reason #1: While offering a full line of cover materials (including fabrics and leather) I love the custom photo covers in lustre and metallic. WOW! All cover materials can be padded as an option. All covers are wrapped around masonite providing a heavier, more substantial album. Photo custom covers are made with a photographic print that is laminated and adhered to the masonite cover.



Look! It wraps all the way around the album!! Talk about your custom cover!!



Reason #2: It's a flush mount album (meaning the print comes all the way to the edge) with thick lay-flat pages and no middle gutter. Pages are printed as full spreads and not cut so imagery and design elements are not lost in the center of the book!



Reason #3: The inside pages are printed on either Art Watercolor, Art Linen or Art Recycled press paper and adhered to heavy black cardstock. This allows each spread to lay flat with a thick and rigid look and feel.





They come in 20, 40, or 60 sides (10, 20 or 30 spreads) and are available in 6x6, 6x12, 8x8, 10x10, 12x6 and 12x12 sizes.

I'm a firm believer that every bride needs an album of her favorite wedding images. This beautiful album arrived Friday. It's the Cache Album from Art Leather. I was as excited as the bride!

These two were delivered today as Mothers' Day presents. They are the perfect size for moms to keep in their purse and share with friends and co-workers.

Willow Book Sequoia Wedding Album

A more traditional album available to my brides is the Sequoia Album by Willow Books. The album is bound in the bride's choice of leather or metal:




The cover may be imprinted and is available with or without a window.



Pages are designed from the bride's favorite images. An average of 2.5 images per page is recommended.
