Enjoy Mr. "G" {Montgomery, AL Baby Portraits}

There is definitely one thing my photography pursuits have taught me: There are plenty of young men and women who make excellent parents and follow God's will for the family. Perfect example here. I was thrilled to meet handsome Mr. "G" and his parents recently at Shakespeare's Garden. It was an absolute blessing.

I'm afraid we often get a skewed view of life from television, news media and movies. The truth is that there are still wonderful people on earth, there is still hope for the family, and God still provides everything we need to enjoy life. So many of my clients remind me of this truth, and I thank them with my whole heart! Mom and Dad, your full gallery of images is uploading and will be ready for you to view later tonight. Enjoy Family {Montgomery, AL Family Portraits}

I cannot begin to tell you how happy I was to photograph a family session recently for a long-time friend. The only thing that bothers me is that after almost 30 years of friendship she still looks so young and beautiful. I am certainly very jealous.



I do love animal stories with happy endings. Sweet Gracie -- rescued from the streets in Prattville -- was a bit camera shy. She is fearful of almost everything and everybody but her "mom" and "dad."



Mom and I discussed photoshopping out the scars from her former life. We both agreed we should not. They are part of who she is - part of her story - a very real reminder of how far she has come as a result of being rescued and loved.



Skeeter has no scars, but she is also a rescue. She just confirmed my determination to get a lab one day. So beautiful and calm. So hard to believe that she would ever need to be rescued.



I really hope this blog post will encourage many of us with adult children to consider having an updated family photograph of our "new" family. As I edited these images I realized what an inspired idea that is!

Enjoy Float Wraps {Montgomery, AL Family Photography}

I was so proud to be able to present this beautiful canvas float wrap enlargement to a wonderful, patriotic family last weekend.



If you're not familiar with float-wraps, here are a few details. The image is printed on the medium of choice -- in this case it is canvas -- and is wrapped around to the back of the board. It is then finished with a piece for hanging which suspends it out from the wall a tad for added impact.



What an honor to be chosen to photograph this special occasion! Many thanks to this family and many others that are serving our great country.

I will always remember the November 11, 2010 Buena Vista Enjoy Moments Sessions as some of my favorites. I had wonderful clients, who all arrived on time and were all cheerful. The weather was perfect. Everything was just perfect.

And here's a perfect example of the results.



I have known this wonderful family for a long time, but this was my first time to photograph them.

I loved their relaxed and happy spirits.



I loved the way the girls interacted with each other.



I loved the way they were dressed.



And I loved what we captured.

Enjoy Buena Vista

Many of you will recognize this beautiful lady as the official hostess of Buena Vista Mansion in Prattville, AL. She is surrounded here by one of her sons and her daughter.



Kate has seen me at my worst ... stressing over rain, heat, snow (yes, snow! twice!! in Alabama!!), and brides ... and yet she has always been more than courteous. I don't know why she answers my calls to schedule more sessions. I don't know how she remains so calm in the midst of all that goes on around her. But she does. So, I was thrilled when she allowed me to include her in the recent Buena Vista Enjoy Moments sessions.



I really had a great time with these two young people. Kate has taught them to be courteous and respectful while keeping that little twinkle of whimsy which made them so fun to work with.





And when I look at this family portrait it makes me want one so badly. I've been trying for over 2 years to get a family portrait and we haven't made it yet. But, if I ever get them all together, I want it to look like this:

Enjoy Autumn

Over 4 years ago - when I'd just started in photography - I got a phone call from an on-the-verge-of-frantic young lady. She'd made an on-location portrait appointment for the following day and (for reasons unknown) the photographer could no longer keep it. I agreed to come, and thus began a wonderful relationship with a precious, talented lady and her fiance.

Now they have a beautiful daughter (who has both of them wrapped around her little finger). It was such a pleasure to see them at the recent Buena Vista Enjoy Moments sessions.



Isn't this little dress just perfect!!



A friend of mine calls this "the friend who won't come out to play." I've loved that descriptive phrase since I first heard it and thought about it the whole time I was preparing these images.

Enjoy Family

It was such an honor to be scheduled to take these family portraits recently when Darlene and Paul had all the children and grandchildren home for a visit. Darlene wisely scheduled this appointment back in the summer and we've both been looking forward to it.








I do confess that this is my favorite of the day.





Some of the best captures from any session come when the clients think you're finished.
