Different Views
After I posted this update the other day, Lori suggested I show what I was photographing while she was photographing me. I thought it was a great idea:
When I was standing here...
I was taking this ...
...and this:
Hey, wait! Is that Lori I see up there in the window?!? The one with the big lens in her hand!
When I was standing here:
I was taking this ...
and this ...
The bride and groom had to wait on me a minute. I actually thought the little ring bearer was going in head first and I was not going to miss capturing it! LOL! Mom grabbed him before he took the plunge! So, I got back to the bride and groom.

Dexter Avenue Fun Shot
My daughter recently shared this idea with me ... taking one image and making it look like three Polaroids:
This was taken on Dexter Avenue (Montgomery, AL) a little over a week ago. If you've been there lately you'll notice that a lot of construction "junk" has been photoshopped out of the picture!
A very nice security guard actually stopped traffic on Dexter Avenue so we could get this image! Isn't that GREAT!?!

On Duty
At a recent wedding, my second-shooter Lori Mercer was stationed in the Montgomery Room of the RSA Tower and I was grabbing a few quick shots of the wedding party in front of the beautiful fountain nearby. She caught these images that show me on duty...
Here I am photographing the bride and groom ... can you find us?
And here photographing the flower girls perilously close to falling into the fountain:
Did you see me?
here...
and here...
Thanks, Lori. These are definitely my favorite "on duty" shots. I even look very slim in these! :D

My Vision, My Style - Free Portrait Sessions #2
I could not help myself:
I've been thinking about the concept of "communication" for a couple of weeks and saw these phones in an antique store. I immediately envisioned a little boy (6-9 mos old) playing with the pay phone and a little girl (approx. 2 years old) playing with the princess phone. So, I need more models!
These will be indoor studio sessions so it doesn't matter what time of day, but I really need to get these done on Monday, June 22 if at all possible.
It doesn't matter what you want to dress them in and I'll be sure to grab a few shots without the props to make it worth your time and effort to schedule and bring your child.
I'll take two each: two boys ages 6 months- 1 year (sitting up and playing well but not walking); 2 girls - 14 mos-2 year range. So that's a total of four free portrait sessions available (regularly priced at $95 each).
Parents must provide supervision, clothing, child and sign a model release.
I'll provide the photography and an on-line gallery for ordering prints.
Sessions will last for approx. 30 minutes.
Call or email today to schedule yours for Monday, June 22. If you want to take advantage of the offer, but just can't come anytime on Monday email or call anyway. If I can't schedule 4 sessions at such short notice, I'll get back with you and see what we can work out.
And I'll have the phones all cleaned up before the session :D

Aren't these the cutest swings you've ever seen!!
I need some little cowboys and cowgirls to help me get portfolio images for this new prop. Here's what I'm thinking:
About 3-4 years old (old enough to hold on and enjoy swinging)
Cowboy hat and boots required - girls in frilly skirts, boys in bluejeans
Late afternoon/early evening sessions
Parents must provide supervision, hat, boots, clothing, child and sign a model release.
I'll provide the swing, photography and an on-line gallery for ordering prints ($95 portrait session for free!).
Sessions will last for approx. 30 minutes -- it's too hot for any longer!
Call or email today to schedule yours for Friday, June 26th.

First Look
My flash can be temperamental. It will often fire on every other snap. This is usually aggravating, but sometimes I like it because I get one image with the flash and an almost identical second image in natural light. That's exactly what happened yesterday when Justin was seeing his bride for the first time. I was just about to hit the "delete" button on these images in which the flash didn't fire when I realized that they really captured the emotion of the moment much better than the brightly colored and well-lit versions. The more I've looked at the images in this series this afternoon the more I've come to love them!
