This is one of my favorite pictures ever! Yes, there are some things that I wish I could change technically -- add a hair light, increase the f-stop, etc. -- but I love the emotion it captures. There are some times you just have to take the shot or the moment is gone!
EJ is helping me test out a new backdrop. Can't let you see all of it yet. I'm so lucky to have such an artistic and loving daughter!
And my first grand "baby" is growing up too quickly!
And here's the cutest "bug" you'll ever see! The outfit was just too adorable.
Thanks, family, for a special Sunday!

Enjoy Babysitting
I figure if you're asked to babysit for the grandchildren, then they're fair game for photographing, right?
Elijah loves to tell you his letters and numbers. I did spell his name behind him, but he can identify almost every one of the letters of the alphabet in any order and form in which they are presented. He also knows his numbers.
After his bath he played the drums. Isn't this the cutest set you've ever seen. He does quite well at it!
But mostly he just entertained me with being cute!

New Blog Design
Many thanks to Rita of CoffeeShop Designs for the new blog design. Not all of the links on the top menu are functional yet. I'll get them all updated as soon as possible. Rita was terrific to work with. She was great at communicating with me and completing everything before promised.

Enjoy Snapshots
I haven't been very good this year about documenting the family. I'm going to try to do better at that ... beginning today.
Unfortunately, not all of the family could be together today. But EJ was here and enjoyed spaghetti noodles...
and green beans that were apparently too hot and he needed to blow them to cool them off a bit.
I really needed my kitchen windows cleaned and when I mentioned it to hubby this morning he said, "I'll put that on my list of things to do." and I knew what that meant! It meant my windows weren't going to get cleaned! So I put "the girls" on it. It didn't take too long before G reluctantly got out the ladder and the cleaning began.
It probably goes without saying hubby wasn't too happy with me...
but the window got cleaned! Mission accomplished!
I needed my window clean so I could take this picture:
My sweet daughter made the hanging bottles for me for Christmas with my daffodils in mind. I've been waiting 2 months for this day.

What a difference a week makes!
Last week I was posting snow pictures ... today the first signs of spring. The daffodils are getting ready to burst upon the scene and brighten this long, cold spell.
All of the images were edited in Color Efex Pro.
The last two have textures from Shadowhouse Creations.
I used three layers of textures on the first: Elemental Grunge #1, overlay mode, 50% opacity; one of the Painted Canvas textures, overlay mode 75% opacity; a third (sorry, don't know the name), soft light mode, 100% opacity. Masks were added to all layers and I painted in varying degrees of opacity on them.
Two layers of textures on the second image: Aged Canvas #6, overlay mode 100% opacity; Painted Canvas #5, soft light mode, 60% opacity. Both layers masked and painted.

2010 Pricing
I am in the process of preparing new prices and packages and ordering new product samples for 2010. Any portrait sessions, baby's first year plans, and weddings not booked by March 1st will fall under the new 2010 pricing, even if inquiries were made prior to March 1st. Any one who has booked before March 1st will be given a choice between 2009 and 2010 plans. Print prices will increase for any new galleries uploaded after March 1st, even if booked under the 2009 plans. Print prices will not increase for Baby's First Year plans currently in progress, even if the final session has not been completed.
And, since we all know you need photos on a photo blog, here are a few from the day after the snow! Almost everything had turned to ice and slush, but I still found some interesting patterns in God's creation!
