February Mini-Sessions
Buena Vista is a beautiful antebellum plantation house built in Prattville, AL circa 1822. On both the first and second floors of this three-story house is a central hall with two rooms on each side. In each of the rooms downstairs you will see beautiful moldings and medallions created by artisans from England. A circular staircase spiraling twenty-four feet is a notable feature of the house.
I try to reserve Buena Vista at least once each year for portrait sessions. Some of these sessions have been featured on the blog in previous posts. Click here to view.
This year I've reserved both Friday, February 12th and Saturday February 27th and am offering reduced prices on portrait sessions scheduled on either of these days. The mansion offers ample places for indoor portraits and, weather permitting, outdoor settings are also available.
Two options are available:
ENJOY MOMENTS
1-3 people ($15 for each additional person)
20-25 minute session
6-12 edited images in an online gallery
$75 plus tax (includes $25 non-refundable deposit to reserve time)
(optional) $20 for 5x5 printed proof book
ENJOY LIFE

40-50 minute session
2-3 clothing changes within the scheduled session time

Not a Creature was Stirring
Merry Christmas 2009!
I have really enjoyed experimenting with textures lately. I used two on this image - both from Shadowhouse Creations - and applied them using MCP Actions new Texture Applicator Action. If you enjoy using textures you'll absolutely love Jodi's new action. It applies a layer mask to the texture layer and allows you to view it applied in different modes until you find the one that's just right.

Enjoy Outtakes 2 | Montgomery AL Family Portraits
Here's what you'll see on the Christmas card:
Here's just a little of what we went through to get them (with my husband off-screen helping):
So, when you bring your 12- to 36-month old for a portrait session and are mortified at his/her unwillingness to pose, please do not despair ... it just takes a lot of work, patience and calmness at that age.

Enjoy Christmas 5
I was so pleased this year to have some teen/young adult siblings come in for Christmas photos! As it gets more difficult to get everyone together we let many years slip by without getting those special portraits of our teens. This mom, and several others this year, were very intentional about capturing their children during this stage of life. Very wise moms!

Enjoy Engagments | Montgomery AL Wedding Photography
In the midst of Christmas portrait sessions I was able to meet with two couples in Shakespeare's Garden for their engagement portrait sessions. Being the cold-weather sissy that I am, I tried to talk them both into indoor sessions. I'm glad they held out for their location portraits as the weather was beautiful and the fall colors were at their best!

Enjoy Hadley's First Christmas
You'd never know sweet little Hadley didn't feel well the day of her First Christmas portrait appointment. She was just a trooper. But these are probably the last images in which we will see gums ... she was teething!
I was so glad I got to get a few with her grandparents:
Their gallery is uploading now. But here's a sneak peek while they're waiting!
