Kristen & Brent

Kristen & Brent are getting married in May. We did their engagement portraits a couple of weeks ago at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. If you missed their sneak peek you can see it here.

While their gallery is uploading tonight I thought I'd share a few more of my favorites. So I guess this makes Sneak Peek #2. Anyway, these images just begged for textures to be added. While the bride-to-be will have her choice of with or without the textures, "with" is definitely my preference!

I couldn't decide if I liked this series better in black and white or color:

These were taken in the Japanese Garden area:

As we were photographing in this area we noticed a goose on the pond. We watched as he continually moved so that he was between us and his mate ...

...who was building her nest on a tiny island in the pond. She was totally oblivious to us while her "man" was on guard :)

Enjoy Easter

Mulder Church had their annual Easter Eggstravaganza yesterday. My older son's family attends Mulder, but he was out of town. So, I went along to help my daughter-in-law ... and to take pictures, of course.

E.J. went first.

With help from his sisters he found 2 eggs - one for each hand - and was pretty much done.

Haylie didn't want to hunt Easter eggs ... she just wanted to JUMP!

Gentle Hannah went last.

But, shortly before we left E.J. saw something behind this open door...

Well, would you look-a-there ...

It's the Easter Bunny!

E.J. was content to stay on this side of the door. Even the basket full of candy wouldn't lure him any closer.

I loved spending a little time enjoying the outdoors AND part of the family yesterday! I know I've said it before, but I am so blessed to be included in the lives of my children who now have families of their own.

Katie ♥ Scott, Part 2

Katie and Scott's gallery will be uploading overnight and will hopefully be ready for them to view when they get home from work tomorrow evening. While they are waiting, here are a few of my favorite images to tell the story of their very special day. (With many thanks to the incredible Lori Mercer for second shooting!) Hope you enjoy them!

If you missed Part 1, it's here.

The beautiful flowers were done by Carrie Pinckard of Wetumpka.

The videographer was Danny Weston of Whisper Video Productions:

Even though I'm not an Alabama fan, I must confess that the groom's cake was absolutely amazing!! And the bride's cake was beautifully done! Both by Liz Justice.

Love working with these guys: Mark Cranage and Tommy Tunes!

Sweet Spring

My sweet daughter somehow came across three lovely little amber bottles and thought of me. She used beads and wire to fashion them into bud vases that would mount on my kitchen window. They were my Christmas present.

She designed them to hold daffodils. So that is what they have done very well this spring.

I have loved coming home each day to see them in the window - especially on days when the sunlight is streaming through them.
