Elijah Update

Elijah is walking, so my once great baby model is now hard to capture! This is the only one I came close to getting today! Can't you just hear him saying, "You are NOT thinking I'm going to sit still for this, are you?!?"

The Cat's Meow: Pet Portraits Montgomery AL

I told a friend this morning that I'd just ordered and received this week (B&H rocks!) the cat's meow in hi-key backgrounds. So, what could I do but experiement with a cat?!? I definitely see some things I'll do differently next time - the edges are a little too gray on some of these (not as noticeable on the gray PhotoShop working space background as on the white blog background). But I'm still very excited about the potential! This is soooo much easier than white paper!

I expect to get some more practice this afternoon when an unsuspecting grandchild comes to visit :)

Coleman Sneak Peek: Wedding Photography Montgomery, AL

Jamichael and Malorye are returning home from their honeymoon today, so I wanted to upload a few of the beautiful images from their wedding last Saturday for them to enjoy together tonight. It takes me about 2 weeks to work through all the captures editing them so the bride, groom, family and friends have the best images to enjoy. I'll upload more from the reception next week.

Many thanks to Michelle Leland for assisting in the photography for this wedding!

Karlie's Sneak Peek 2: Newborn Photography Montgomery AL

There were just too many "favorites" from Karlie's newborn session last week. I had to post a few more while the gallery was uploading for the family.

Lawrence-Coleman Wedding

The rain subsided just in the nick of time for the Lawrence-Coleman wedding yesterday. I'll post a sneak peek tomorrow.

Boots and a Bouquet

We went to the pasture land owned by the bride's grandfather for this bridal portrait session. She wanted a connection with her beloved grandfather who died of cancer a few months ago before he could see his first grandchild's wedding. The lighting was perfect and the results are beautiful but can't be shown until after the June wedding. Because it is pasture land (we're lucky none of the cows wanted to be included in the session!), I cautioned the bride against wearing her nice shoes! So, here's a sneak peek to tease the groom a little. This is all you get to see for now!

Karlie's Sneak Peek: Newborn Portraits Montgomery Alabama

I think every portrait session I've had with Sophie has produced an award-winning image. She's not only a little beauty, she's great at following directions. I asked her today if she'd ever considered pursuing a career in modeling. She said, "What?!?"

Sophie brought along her sweet new baby sister, Karlie.

Look at this bonnet! This one just had to be converted to sepia!! I think Karlie is going to be every bit the model big sister Sophie is!

In this last image, Karlie's head is resting on the pillow that will hold her ring in her wedding. The time will pass much faster than her parents will ever believe!

There are many more images coming from this session. This is just a sneak peek for mom and dad and sweet grandmother, Jean.

Through the Viewfinder: Sunday Morning

In the backyard this morning shooting with the Canon 5D and Canon 100mm macro lens through the viewfinder of a vintage Kodak Duoflex camera.

I know part of the charm of TTV photography is the scratches, but I do think I'll try to remove the stray hair that has fallen into the viewfinder somewhere! It is a little distracting.

Oh, How I Wish I Could...

...show you the beautiful bridal portraits from a session this week! But they're under wraps until the June wedding! This is all you get to see for now!

For Sure, That's What Friends are For

John English was a little reluctant to come to a family portrait session for his mom. So he brought his friend, Robbie. Robbie wasn't at all shy about being photographed! It made for a great series of candid portraits:

Mother's Day, Part 2

My husband worked in the front flower bed as part of Mother's Day. He knows how much pleasure I get from driving up after a long day and seeing the splash of color as I walk in the door.

I have always loved to watch him work in the soil. His hands just seem so comfortable and at ease when he's digging and planting.

The neighbor's cat thought we might need some assistance. He's flattened himself in the grass thinking we can't see him! If you don't have cats you just don't understand their world.

Time to go in!
