Hadley Marie, Part 2

I finished editing Hadley Marie's newborn session tonight and am uploading the images to Mom and Dad's Private Online Gallery.

Here are a few of my favorites:

This is my absolute favorite image from the session! Even though you can't see Hadley Marie's face, the emotion that is conveyed is just amazing! It blew me away when I saw it in the folder tonight. It is going to become a standard for me in forthcoming newborn sessions!

Senior Portraits - Montgomery, AL

Senior Portraits are one of my favorite sessions. And it just couldn't get any better than having a senior like Ashley... a beautiful young lady on a beautiful day. There are many more coming, but here's a quick sneak peek for mom and Ashley:

Ashley and little sister, Katie.

Giving some sister attitude :)

Edward's 1st Birthday

I'm uploading Edward's First Birthday pictures to his private online gallery today, so wanted to post some of my favorite images while mom and dad are waiting for it to be released.

Edward did not care for the feeling of frosting on his fingers! Once we gave himm a spoon he was perfectly content!

These were taken outdoors before we dove into the cake!

One Man's Weed

...is a photographer's beautiful backdrop. This field of wildflowers is growing near my house. I'm terrified the landowners are going to cut it down soon!

These were post-processed with Imagenomic's Real Grain Filter using the Fujicolor Reala 100 Preset.

Meg: Sneak Peak

Pretty Meg did not want to look at me and she did not want to smile. But she's such a beauty that the images from today turned out great anyway! This is the last sneak peek for the night! We'll start again tomorrow.

Whittney ♥ Cory: Sneak Peek

Oh, wow ... can you say "fun!" That's what I had today with this great couple! They're going to have a hard time picking out their favorite engagement photo! I quickly grabbed these five for a sneak peek:

Amanda's Prom Night - Sneak Peek

Amanda and Jonathan stopped by for a few pictures on their way to prom night. Aren't they beautiful! I love the coordinated look.

Elijah's First Birthday

We took Elijah's First Birthday pics a little early, but yesterday was the official party!

In attendance were cousins EJ, Hannah and Haylie (who were more interested in the cake than anything else), and Micky Mouse (hmmmmmm).

There were lots of presents to open...

And plenty of cake to eat.

EJ didn't make it through the entire party -- just too much excitement for a little fellow.

Elijah gives Mom a big kiss for planning such a great party!

Kindergarten Soccer

Today began with my older granddaughter's soccer game. I was amazed at how well these Kindergartners understood the game!

Cousins Lily and Hannah are on the same team.

The coach lulled the opposing team into the slumber of overconfidence as he kept his secret weapons on the bench during the first quarter:

Then he sends them in: Lily, aka "Thunder Shoes," takes her position as forward. Hannah moves into place to defend the goal.

There are a few moments of distraction with the sights and sounds all around, not to mention a little hangnail. Daddy can be heard calling, "Focus, Hannah, focus!" But it's mom's voice from the sideline that usually snaps her back into the game.

Until I downloaded the images, I didn't realize how many times Hannah came head-to-head with this little cutie from the opposing team. But she didn't let his good looks dissuade her from defending the goal. She made a fabulous save in this series - then looks to mom and dad on the sidelines for their approving cheers.

Go, Hannah, go!

The game was finally called. It may have been a time-limit issue, but I prefer to think of it as a mercy call. Lily had gotten us so far ahead of the other team the officials just didn't want to let the game continue! Time for a victory huddle!

The day also ended on a personal note with Elijah's first birthday party. I'll post some of those tomorrow.

Choir Photos

I always feel so honored when asked to photograph a performance or group at Trinity School. It was so much fun capturing a choir performance yesterday. I have confessed before that I hate stage lighting - especially when different lights are used so that everybody has a different color cast. But I was thrilled with this silhouette image from the show choir. Even my husband thought it was cool!

It's Somebody's Birthday Update

When Addie's mom uploaded this image to her blog a friend said, "This should win an award." It did! It was chosen as the Picture of the Day at the Digital Image Cafe today in the People Category.

EJ

Being the youngest member of the family, sweet little EJ gets left out of a lot. He's certainly had fewer photo sessions than any of the others! So, I'm giving him "double billing" today. How could anyone not smile while looking at this sweet face!! He reminds me a lot of his dad as a baby, but I can see his pretty mom in that face, too! The wind is not blowing his hair! That's his normal look! It will calm down as he gets older...sister Hannah's hair looked just like that when she was a baby!

Resurrection Sunday

Our backyard was alive today with the sound of grandchildren. I am truly blessed beyond measure - and certainly more than I deserve - with a wonderful family.

Malorye ♥ Mike

They were high school sweethearts ... and now they're getting married. And I am so excited that I get to photograph the wedding! Malorye was a bridesmaid in the first wedding (outside of family) I ever photographed. Imagine how thrilled I was to hear from her again when she began to plan her own wedding. Mike is serving in our military. He's already served one term in Iraq and will be heading back shortly after the honeymoon. He came home this week-end so Malorye could get her engagement portraits. So, I wanted to be sure and upload this sneak peek before he heads back to his base. More are on the way, Malorye and Mike! You are a beautiful and fun couple!
