Kasey's Bridal Portraits

In July of this year, I had the pleasure of meeting Kasey when she interviewed me for her December wedding. She brought her sweet mom Sherry and fun-loving sister Keli along and I just instantly feel in love with all of them. It was important to Kasey that everything connected with the wedding be Christ-honoring. I was so pleased when she chose me to be a part of this wonderful celebration.

We did her bridal portraits in November at Buena Vista in Prattville. However, I was not allowed to release them until after the wedding yesterday. I'll be uploading a sneak peek from the beautiful ceremony later this week. This is the image Kasey chose for her enlargement which was framed and displayed at the reception:

Here are a few more from the bridal shoot -- some fun and some serious:

Pansy Experiments

My husband planted some beautiful pansies this year. I was out with him while he was covering them with straw before the cold snap we're currently experiencing. I had just watched a video by Bryan Petersen (www.ppsop.com) on intentional camera movement -- intended to achieve an impressionistic look to the photograph -- so thought I'd experiment with that concept. The day was very gray and overcast, so it allowed for a longer-than-usual shutter speed. This was my favorite of the images.

I had to grab a few macros while I was out there. Since I wasn't using my tripod I didn't really get but one "keeper."

Cowboy

It was a distinct honor to have an opportunity to photograph this family friend known as "Cowboy." He reluctantly came back for a few studio shots. He was a natural in front of the camera and I came away with many images from the shoot that I really liked. Here are just a few:

Photography Assignment

I was thrilled to be asked to take the photographs for Trinity Presbyterian School's new Kindergarten brochure! What fun watching the children during several school days. Here are a few of the pages from the booklet featuring the photos:

These brochures will provide information and inspiration for prospective Trinity Kindergartens and will be passed out at the annual Kindergarten Open House in January.

Christmas Blessings

We've doubled our grandchildren this year! From two to four! These are a few of the favorite snaps I've taken of them in their Christmas PJs. I learned something about buying Christmas PJs this year -- buy them larger than you think you'll need them!
